Combining Western Surrealist and Cubist techniques, Hsu flips the scenery on the right and paints the speeding oxcart in the sky. Hsu creates his own world by piecing together all the peaceful farm life imageries in his imagination: the lady lounging in the flower bush (who may be the farmer’s life), the stars and moon reflecting in the lake and the transparent pig pens on the bottom.
